Happy 4th Of July! Come celebrate Independence Day at the Fort Dalles Forth Festival! The Rocket Run, Independence Day Parade, live music and the biggest fireworks display in Oregon are all happening today! Here are some frequently asked questions answered about Fort Dalles Forth Festival.
Q: What time does the park open
A: Gates will open at 5pm Sunday July 3rd. Monday, July 4th the park opens at 8:00am.
Q: What time does the park close
A: Our stage and vendors will shut down no later than 11:00pm. The park will be cleared and closed by 12:00am
Q: Will there be seating available
A: We do not provide chairs for Preferred or General Admission. You may bring your own blanket or lawn chair to sit on. (limited table seating is available in our reserved Sponsor Hospitality tent)
Q: Will there be access to drinking water
A: Yes! We have numerous free potable water stations set up in addition to water bottles for sale at nearly all of our vendors.
Q: Can I bring my own food
A: We cannot allow outside food both for liability reasons and contractual obligations to our festival food vendors.
Q: What else is prohibited
A: We ask that you do not bring weapons of any kind, drugs of any kind, fireworks of any kind (including pop-its), objects that might obstruct the view of others, or pets of any kind. Service Animals will be allowed as required by ADA, however please be mindful that loud music and fireworks can trigger dangerous and unpredictable behavior in even the most highly trained animal and pose a risk to public safety. We ask that you take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of you and your service animal, as well as other guests and event staff.
Q: Is there a charge for July 4th admission
A: We will be asking for a suggested donation of $2 per person, however nobody will be turned away if they cannot afford to or choose not to make a donation at the gate.
Q: Where should I park
A: There will be no onsite public parking available at the festival park. Downtown The Dalles has several large parking lots within a few blocks distance to the Festival Park Entrance as well as ample street parking available. We strongly encourage walking or carpooling. Union Street will be closed to through traffic from 2nd & Union Street all the way out to 1st & Bargeway Road.
Q: Where will the fireworks be launched from
A: Fireworks Barge will be anchored between the Marina and the new cruise ship dock. The barge will not be moved into position until just before the show.
Q: When will the fireworks be launched
A: Fireworks will be launched shortly after 10:00PM assuming weather is cooperating.
