MT HOOD & THE
COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE

Our Fishing is Off the Hook

Are you angling for adventure in the Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge region? Have your fill of fishing fun year-round here.

In the winter, join the guides at The Flyfishing Shop for a guided fishing trip along the Sandy and Clackamas rivers in search of delicious, colorful steelhead. The Salmon River is home to the state's oldest scenic river and thus known as one of the most beautiful locations to fish in all of Oregon.

After a winter's full of mountain fresh steelhead, make you way to the Columbia River for the Pacific Northwest’s best walleye fishery at The Dalles Pool. The Dalles Pool stretches from The Dalles Dam upstream to the John Day Dam. The river is open year round for fishing warm water species like the walleye, but the best time to come is in March for the spring run. Our favorite spots are Preacher’s Eddy, the Willows, and the Rufus Run. For a guided tour, contact one of the numerous outfitters in the area, including Upper Columbia Guide Service info@uppercolumbiaguide.com), Sturgeon River Monsters.com, Adriatic Outfitters adriatic@cni.net. legendary angler Ed Iman (541.298.3753); and Young’s Fishing Service, Inc.
