Fall in Love with The Dalles

10/08/2019 | Agritourism, Event, Food, Hiking, The Dalles

The harvest has been reaped, and you can enjoy the bounty at The Dalles Farmers’ Market! On October 12th The Farmers’ Market Harvest Fest, complete with a pie contest, dress your veggie contest, and kids activities provided by Wonderworks Children’s Museum will be in full swing from 9am - 1pm. Can’t make it to the Farmer’s Market? MCMC’s Harvest Fest at Renken Farms will include a petting zoo, pumpkins and much more.

Enjoy miles of hiking and biking in the eastern gorge, or take the Oregon Trail Tour along the Barlow Road on October 18th and spend a weekend at the Balch Hotel learning about the rich history of our landscape. Now is also an excellent time to get out on the water and experience catch and release sturgeon fishing in The Dalles Pool.

Beer lovers rejoice as it is the season of craft beverages! Enjoy local and regionally brewed beers at Freebridge Brewing, Sedition Brewing, Clocktower Ales, Rivertap Restaurant and Pub, and Route 30, all in downtown The Dalles. Check their websites for information on live music and events!

If you’re more of a wine drinker join us at Sunshine Mill Winery October 19th for the 2nd Annual Harry Potter Halloween Feast catered and organized by Rooted in the Gorge. Rooted’s events are curated to be meaningful experiences that encourage connection - meaning there are only 50 seats available so buy your tickets now!
