Why not Wednesday? Enjoy a mid-week visit the Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge region

Let’s be honest - you need a “Why not Wednesday?” trip to the Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge region. Whether it’s spring skiing on Mt. Hood (which just got more fresh snow!), hiking trails in the Gorge, sunshine in The Dalles, or scooping up fresh-cut bouquets of flowers in Estacada, mid-week offers some of the best reasons to take a break from work and enjoy a fun-filled day.

Best of all, you’ll enjoy all of these amazing activities without having to dodge the crowds that arrive on sunny weekend days —think empty lift lines, more solitude on the trails and fewer cars in the parking lot. There’s also shorter wait times at your favorite bars, restaurants, tasting rooms, and coffee shops. “Why not Wednesday?” can just as easily transition to “Wine not Wednesday”!

Taking a day to get outdoors for a fun activity or relax is more than just a great way to reduce stress and anxiety. It also helps sharpen your mind and focus when you get back to work for the rest of the week. “Taking breaks from stressful routines can amp up one’s creativity, productivity, and focus,” according to the New York Times.
