5 Great Breakfast Spots in The Dalles

11/07/2019 | Food, The Dalles

Is breakfast your favorite meal of the day? Do you dream of eggs Benedict and scratch made baked goods? Look no further than The Dalles to fulfill all your brunch wishes. Here are five of our favorite breakfast fuel stops for your pre- or post- Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood adventures.

Mamma Jane's Pancake House

This old-school pancake House serves up hospitality in generous portions (like their breakfast plates). Comfy and friendly, you’ll feel right at home!

Petite Provence Boulangerie & Pâtisserie

Wait, there’s a French bistro in The Dalles? You bet your baguettes! Get a little taste of that Parisian style with an amazing selection of pastries, omelettes worth committing crimes over, and mimosa flights for those brunch “meetings” on Sunday morning.

Zim's Brau Haus

Open for the last 49 years, bring a friend here and relax. Flavorful food, excellent customer service, and available 7 days a week. HOT TIP: Try one of the traditional German dishes. Or, stop by in the evening for a great sports-bar experience during a Blazers game, or their famous Super Bowl party!

Cousins’ Restaurant & Saloon

“Hi cousin!” is what you’ll hear as soon as you into this throwback dining space with old-fashioned decor & family style meals. Come get one of the biggest (and best) breakfasts around. There’s even an attached inn for the nap you’ll need after chowing down one of their world-famous cinnamon rolls!

Kainos Coffee & Pizza (KYE-NOSE)

Kainos Coffee started out with two childhood best friends roasting coffee over their fireplace with their scrappy homemade roaster. This cafe is complete with locally sourced ingredients and funky vibes. Try their “Freakin’ Yum” coffee blend, homemade poptarts, or their honey glazed bread. The coffee you buy is used to support their biggest charity partner, Lifechild Asia, and provides clothes, food, and education in the Philippines to children in need.
