Don’t let winter blues get you down! Here are some great ideas for the perfect day in the Gorge to get you off your couch, and enjoying all that the area has to offer.

Ruby’s Spa and Salon at McMinamins Edgefield in Troutdale will help you feel relaxed and refreshed. Ruby’s spa has an outdoor heated soaking pool perfect for those cold days and nights here in the Pacific Northwest. The Soaking pool is available for overnight hotel guests and those with spa appointments. So plan an overnight stay in one of their unique hotel rooms or book a spa day. You deserve it.

After your nice warm soak at Edgefield come take a stroll in the charming historic town of Troutdale to visit the many art galleries and eclectic shops; to escape those rainy days. Red Trillium Gallery is one of the newest galleries to call Troutdale home. It is host to 43 artists with all different mediums to gaze at, or take something amazing home with you.

If all that impressive art has given you a creative stroke, about a block away is The Escape Artist Sip & Paint studio. Here you can be your own favorite artist and create a masterpiece to take home. Nothing brings cheer to drizzly days like amazing grub on the banks of the Sandy River at theSugarpine Drive-In. Here you will enjoy a delicious menu of savory foods and sweet treats.

If you’re just in the mood for some comfort food and warm views, Tad’s Chicken N’ Dumplins is a must stop along the Sandy River. This 1920s roadhouse serves classic American fare in a homey, paneled space with a riverfront patio.
